Both Bay Ink studios take walk-ins seven days a week, 11 AM to 6 PM. If you want something small and you want it today, call ahead to check who's free and come in.
Walk-ins are first-come, first-served and depend on which artists have open time - calling ahead is the difference between waiting and getting straight in the chair.

How Walk-Ins Work Here
- Call ahead to check who's free - Bay Park (619) 359-4107, La Jolla (858) 352-6295. Bring a valid government-issued photo ID: you must be 18 or older for a tattoo, no exceptions under California law. Availability changes through the day, so the earlier you call, the better your odds.
What Works as a Walk-In (and What Doesn't)
Good walk-in candidates: small script, simple symbols and line work, small florals, matching tattoos with a friend, flash designs, and small cover-up consultations. Better as a booked appointment: portraits, sleeves, large custom pieces, and detailed realism - those need design time to come out right.

What It Costs
No - both studios take walk-ins every day. For anything large, custom or detailed, book a free consultation instead so your artist has time to design it properly.
Our shop minimum is $180, and small walk-in pieces usually land at or near that minimum. We accept major credit cards, Venmo and cash.
