Piercings are one of the easiest ways to express your personal style, and there are far more options than most people realize. Whether you're planning your first piercing or building a curated ear, here's a guide to the most popular placements.
Ear Piercings
Lobe. The classic — soft, quick to heal, and endlessly stackable.
Helix. Along the upper outer cartilage; great for hoops and studs.
Forward Helix. On the upper ear near the face, above the tragus.
Tragus. The small flap of cartilage in front of the ear canal.
Rook. The fold of cartilage in the inner upper ear.
Daith. The innermost cartilage fold, popular for its unique placement.
Conch. The large inner or outer cartilage of the ear, perfect for a statement stud or hoop.
Industrial. Two piercings connected by a single barbell across the upper ear.
Snug. A shallow inner-cartilage piercing along the ear's ridge.
Facial Piercings
Nostril. One of the most popular facial piercings, worn with a stud or ring.
Septum. Through the soft tissue at the center of the nose; easy to hide or show off.
Lip. Includes the labret, Monroe, snake bites, and angel bites, depending on placement.
Eyebrow. A surface piercing along the brow ridge.
Bridge. Across the bridge of the nose, between the eyes.
Body Piercings
Navel. The timeless belly-button piercing, ideal for curved jewelry.
Nipple. A bold choice that requires careful placement and aftercare.
